Wedding Photographers in Montreal

Packages vary widely by photographer, location, and coverage hours. Entry-level coverage typically starts lower, while experienced photographers with full-day coverage, second shooters, and albums cost more. Always request a detailed breakdown of what each package includes before booking.

Nine to twelve months ahead is ideal for most Canadian weddings. Popular photographers for peak summer Saturdays often book 12 to 18 months in advance. If your date is within six months, many photographers still have availability — act quickly and be flexible on dates.

Documentary (photojournalistic) captures candid, unposed moments as they happen. Fine art features soft, romantic, carefully composed imagery with a timeless feel. Traditional focuses on classic posed portraits and family groupings. Many photographers blend styles — look at full galleries, not just highlights.

Second shooters are recommended for weddings with more than 100 guests, weddings where the ceremony and reception are at different venues, and full-day coverage. A second shooter captures additional angles, the groom getting ready simultaneously with the bride, and candid guest moments the lead photographer cannot reach.

Ask to see full weddings from start to finish — not just highlight reels. Look for consistency across different lighting conditions (dark receptions, harsh sun, rain). Confirm their style matches yours. Check that they photograph weddings similar in size and venue type to yours.

Some photographers include an engagement session in their packages; others offer it as an add-on. Engagement sessions are valuable because they let you get comfortable in front of the camera and build rapport with your photographer before the wedding day. Ask if it is included or available.
